A genuine Yamaha internal sacrificial anode used with the later-design cylinder-head and block cooling cover on selected F80 to F250 four-stroke outboards.
The anode protects internal aluminium cooling passages by corroding before the cylinder-head and block material.

🔌 Function
The anode sacrifices its own metal to protect internal aluminium cooling passages from galvanic and electrolytic corrosion.
Common signs of failure:
• Anode has lost approximately half of its mass
• Anode is deeply pitted, cracked or consumed
• White corrosion appears within the water jacket
• Cooling passage contains loose anode material
• Anode has not been replaced during scheduled internal inspection
