🔌 Function


The trim-cylinder rod guide closes the cylinder, supports the piston rod and retains the rod seal, wiper and backup components that prevent hydraulic-fluid leakage and water intrusion.


Common signs of failure / service requirement:


• Hydraulic fluid leaks around the piston rod

• Rod movement becomes rough or the guide is corroded

• Wiper no longer excludes saltwater and debris

• Guide threads or removal holes are damaged

• Cylinder cannot be resealed using the original head
