🔌 Function

The anode corrodes in place of the aluminium gearcase and can be rotationally adjusted to reduce steering pull from propeller torque.

Common signs of failure:

• Anode has lost approximately half of its mass

• Surface is deeply pitted or heavily eroded

• Gearcase corrosion appears nearby

• Anode has been painted or electrically isolated

• Steering pull changes after the trim tab is damaged or moved
