🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta 78049957, weighing 4.511 kg. Volvo Penta's own special tools catalogue designates it a press tool rather than a puller, and lists four products against it: the D8A2-A MP and D8A3-A engines and the IPS15-A and IPS15-B drives. 78059786 is designated a press tool too and covers exactly the same four products, so the pair is separated by the tool number the procedure quotes rather than by what it fits.

⚙️ Key Features

  • Designated a press tool in Volvo Penta's special tools catalogue
  • 4.511 kg
  • Listed for the D8A2-A MP and D8A3-A engines and the IPS15-A and IPS15-B drives
  • 78059786 is designated a press tool with the identical product list

🔌 Function

Presses a tight component off its shaft or out of its bore under controlled load, without hammering.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Centre screw thread galled or stiff to turn
  • Legs or arms bent after being loaded off-centre
  • Tip or centre point mushroomed and no longer locating properly
  • Slipping off the component as the load comes on

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Check which of the two press tools the procedure specifies, as 78059786 carries the same product list
  • Keep the centre screw greased and load the tool square, as side loading is what bends the legs

📦 Condition

  • Genuine Volvo Penta part
  • Brand new
  • Supplied in original or equivalent packaging
