Genuine Volvo Penta aluminium single propeller with a short hub for the 200, 250, 270, 275, 280, 285, 290 and SP Aquamatic drives, offered in a standard and a High-speed series. The High-speed propeller features more blade area than the standard propeller: in a fast boat this does not only mean increased speed, it also means that a heavily loaded boat will plane more quickly, enjoying better fuel economy and increased cruising speed, and the increased blade area provides faster and safer quayside manoeuvring. This propeller is the 14 x 19 size, left hand rotation. The folder marks it HS, the high-speed series.

🔌 Function

Converts the drive's shaft torque into thrust to move the boat, with the extra blade area of the high speed form to keep its grip at high revs and under load.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Vibration through the hull that rises with engine speed
• Blade tips or trailing edges chipped, curled or bent
• Pitting, erosion or a chalky white bloom over the blade faces
• Engine revs climbing without a matching gain in boat speed
• Boat slow to plane, or the engine unable to reach its rated speed at full throttle

🛠️ Service Notes

• Volvo Penta's instruction for this range is to always use a long hub propeller on V6, V8, AQD40 and AQAD31/40/41 engines, so check the engine before fitting a short hub propeller
• The matching rear propeller in this size is 814633, and front and rear should be fitted as a pair in the same size
• Grease the shaft splines, check the thrust washer, and confirm the engine reaches its rated speed on trial after any propeller change
• Installation hardware, short hub propeller: propeller cone 854045, locking screw 850889, spacer ring 854047, plastic washer 850888, tab washer 897367 and the line cutter / thrust washer for the drive - 832965 for the 200, 839534 for the 250, 270 and 275, 839423 for the 280, 285, 290 and SP-A, and 872082 for the SP-A1, A2, C, C1 and E. Tool 873058.
• The propeller cone is locked in different ways depending on the propeller shaft design. Use the locking screw on newer drives with an internally threaded propeller shaft; on drives without an internally threaded propeller shaft, use the tab washer.
