⚙️ Key Features

• 1.273 kg
• Supersedes 479874, listed earlier as a gudgeon pin
• 8 applications across six engine series
• Engine group

🔌 Function

Joins the piston to the connecting rod and carries the whole combustion load through to the rod's small end.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Piston knock when cold that quietens as the engine warms
• Pin scuffed, picked up or discoloured
• Pin loose in the piston bore or the small end bush
• Circlip groove damaged or the clip found displaced
• Bearing debris on the oil filter after a pin failure

🛠️ Service Notes

• Piston pin 8194539 at 1.286 kg is only 13 grams heavier, so the two cannot be separated by weight - order by part number and engine
• Gudgeon pin is simply the older name for the same component, so an older parts list entry is not a different part
• Renew the small end bush and clips at the same time and check the pin bore in the piston
