🔌 Function

Backs up a sealing ring or bearing so it cannot be pushed out of its groove by pressure or movement.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Seal it supports extruding out of its groove and leaking
  • Ring cracked, chipped or broken into pieces
  • Ring worn thin on one face
  • Water weeping past a joint that has been resealed before
  • Debris from a broken ring found in the pump body

🛠️ Service Notes

  • This ring shares the same 8 applications as impeller 831438, ball bearing 831720 and sealing ring 831892, which are the other internals of the same pump, so renew them together
  • Fit the support ring the correct way round, since it only backs the seal up in one orientation
