🔌 Function

Shields the area behind it from line, weed and debris so they cannot reach the shaft seal or bearing.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Plate bent, cracked or torn at a fixing
• Line or weed found past the plate and wound on the shaft
• Plate corroded thin or wasted away
• Plate loose, missing or its fixings pulled through
• Wear or scoring on the seal behind a long-missing plate

🛠️ Service Notes

• Ring 832965 in this round is the thrust ring in the same area on the same drive families, so check both while the propeller is off
• Inspect and clear the shaft behind the plate whenever it is removed, since debris that has got past is the reason to fit a new plate
