• Filter body dented, distorted or bulging
• Dark, gritty or metallic oil at the change interval
• Filter difficult to remove because it has been overtightened

• The J-generation 4.3, 5.0 and 5.7 engines take an oil filter insert rather than this spin-on, so check the generation letter
• Oil the new seal, fit by hand and tighten only the specified amount, then check for leaks with the engine running
