⚙️ Key Features

  • 30.421 kg
  • Supersedes 820721, previously listed as a heat exchanger housing
  • 12 applications across the MD, TMD, TD, D and TAMD series

🔌 Function

Carries and encloses the heat exchanger core, holding the coolant and seawater passages apart while providing the mounting and sealing faces for the assembly.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Coolant or seawater weeping from the end joints
  • Heavy internal scaling or corrosion visible at the ends
  • Overheating that persists after the thermostat and pumps have been cleared
  • Coolant contaminated with salt, showing an internal breach
  • Sealing lands pitted so a new gasket will not hold

🛠️ Service Notes

  • At 30.4 kg this is a two-person lift and a freight item rather than a parcel, so plan the handling before it arrives
  • Renew all the end gaskets, seals and the sacrificial anodes when the housing is rebuilt
  • Pressure test the assembly after reassembly rather than relying on a dry check
