  • Scuffing or bluish discoloration on the pin surface
  • Pin free to rock in the piston bosses when checked
  • Retaining circlip groove damaged or the clip found displaced

  • Check the small end bush and the piston bosses for matching wear, as a new pin in a worn bore will knock straight away
  • Fit new retaining clips rather than reusing the old ones, and follow the correct heating and assembly method for the pin fit
