🔌 Function

Carries fuel along a fixed route between two connections, holding the line and its sealing faces in the right positions.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Diesel weeping at a union or a fuel smell in the engine space
• Air drawn in giving hard starting and rough running
• Sealing cones or shoulders on the pipe ends scored or dented
• Pipe chafed thin or cracked at a bend
• Union nuts loose or their threads damaged

🛠️ Service Notes

• Fuel pipe 838587 consolidates the same three old numbers 846017, 846789 and 846018, so one old set now points at two current pipes and you must check which assembly you are working on before ordering
• Renew the sealing washers at the unions, and never try to bend a fuel pipe to fit
