839253 Sealing Ring | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta sealing ring from the Marine Propulsion group, weighing 0.036 kg and listed for 170 applications across AQ, MD, TMD, AD, AQAD and D series engines and drives. It is also included in the gasket kit, and it consolidates part numbers 832515 and 943673, which were catalogued earlier as a spare part and as a double bearing box, so the earlier numbers covered rather more than this ring alone.

🚤 Compatibility

• Engine Family: AQ, MD, TMD, AD, AQAD, D, TSK, BB, TAMD, MS, B, DP, SP, DPX, HS, AQD, MB, KAD, KAMD

🔌 Function

Seals a joint in the drive, compressing in its seat to keep oil in and water out.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Oil weeping from the joint, or water found in the drive oil
• Milky or grey drive oil at the service drain
• Ring hardened, flattened or nipped on removal
• Seat corroded or scored, so the ring cannot seal
• Repeat leakage after a joint has been disturbed

🛠️ Service Notes

• If you are doing a full strip, the gasket kit already contains this ring — buy the single ring only for a spot repair
• One superseded number was catalogued as a bearing box, so confirm you need the ring and not the larger assembly
• Renew the drive oil and check for water contamination after fitting
