🔌 Function

Takes up thermal growth and engine movement in the exhaust run so the joints either side are not loaded.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Blowing or a puffing noise from the exhaust run
• Bellows split, blistered or showing soot streaks
• Convolutions crushed, stretched or set to one side
• Flange faces warped or pitted
• Pipework moving noticeably more than it used to

🛠️ Service Notes

• Measure the gap in the run and confirm 185 mm before ordering
• Support the pipework either side while fitting, as pulling the compensator into a misaligned gap will shorten its life
• At over seven kilogrammes this is a two-hand item, so plan the lift in a confined engine bay
