⚙️ Key Features

• 0.863 kg
• 78 applications across six engine series
• Clutch group
• Shares its fitment with lock washer 846521

🔌 Function

Locks a hub to its shaft so drive is transmitted through the key rather than through friction alone.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Knock or clunk on taking up drive or changing direction
• Key visibly rolled, burred or partly sheared
• Keyway in the shaft or hub hammered oversize
• Hub creeping round on the shaft under load
• Fretting rust worked out of the keyway

🛠️ Service Notes

• Inspect both keyways before fitting a new key, as a hammered keyway will destroy the new key quickly
• Renew lock washer 846521 at the same time if the assembly uses one
• At 0.863 kg this is a substantial driveline key rather than a small machine key, so make sure the keyway matches before ordering
