⚙️ Key Features

  • 0.308 kg
  • Supersedes 845967
  • 37 applications across five engine series

🔌 Function

Closes off a housing or access opening in the coolant circuit, holding the joint pressure-tight against the system's working pressure.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Coolant weep or a crusted salt trail at the cover joint
  • Sealing face pitted, corroded or eaten away
  • Cover cracked or pulled out of flat around the fastener holes
  • Fasteners that will not hold, or threads pulled in the housing behind

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Always renew the gasket or seal behind the cover when it comes off, and clean both faces back to bare metal
  • Pull the fasteners down evenly and in stages - a cover tightened one bolt at a time distorts and then leaks
