Full model list at the end of this description.

⚙️ Key Features

  • Early type
  • 0.084 kg
  • 75 applications across six engine series including BB
  • Quantity varies by assembly, most commonly one

🔌 Function

Holds the alternator or ancillary drive belt at its set tension, taking up slack so the belt drives without slipping.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Belt squeal on start-up or when electrical load comes on
  • Belt slack that will not take up on adjustment
  • Slots or the adjusting face worn, elongated or burred
  • Belt dust and black rubber deposit around the drive
  • Charging falling off as the belt slips under load

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Tensioner 847957 in this listing is the L variant at 0.109 kg with a narrower 30-application fitment, so confirm which arrangement the engine carries
  • Renew the belt with the tensioner, as a belt that has been slipping is glazed and will keep slipping on new parts

📦 Condition

  • Genuine Volvo Penta part
  • Brand new
  • Supplied in original or equivalent packaging
