🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta sealing plate from the Cooling System group, weighing 0.844 kg and listed for 8 applications across TMD and TAMD series engines. It consolidates two earlier numbers, 844027 and 849236, both of which were catalogued as an insert rather than as a sealing plate.

⚙️ Key Features

• 0.844 kg
• Supersedes 844027 and 849236
• Both old numbers were catalogued as an insert
• 8 applications across TMD and TAMD series engines
• Also supersedes Volvo part number 842779

🔌 Function

Seals and closes a face in the cooling assembly, separating one water space from another.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Coolant weeping from the joint the plate seals
• Coolant and oil or raw water mixing where the plate separates two spaces
• Plate found corroded, pitted or eroded through
• Sealing face distorted so the joint will not pull tight
• Assembly failing a pressure test

🛠️ Service Notes

• Two earlier numbers now come as this one part, so a workshop manual or old parts list may still call it an insert - ordering by 849147 gets the current item either way
• Renew the seals and any anode when the assembly is opened
• Pressure test the assembly before returning it to service
