• For the AQ225E from production order 56001 onwards
• For the AQ260B from production order 57467 onwards
• 11.05 kg

🔌 Function

Stores the rotating energy that carries the crankshaft smoothly between firing strokes, and carries the ring gear the starter engages.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Grinding or clattering when the starter engages
• Ring gear teeth chipped, hooked or missing in one spot
• Vibration that was not there before, from a damaged or wrongly balanced flywheel
• Friction face scored, heat-checked or blued
• Cracks radiating from the fixing bolt holes

🛠️ Service Notes

• Both production order breaks matter - check the engine's production marking against the AQ225E 56001 and AQ260B 57467 figures before ordering
• A second flywheel, 855833, is listed here at 12.973 kg for 45 applications across BB, DP, SP and MS, so confirm which series you are ordering for
• Renew the flywheel bolts where they are the stretch type, and check the starter pinion for matching damage before blaming the ring gear alone
