857068 Thermostat Housing | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta thermostat housing from the Cooling System group, weighing 2.776 kg and listed for six applications. It supersedes 857069. That same old number also comes through as t-stud 857067 in this run, so 857069 on its own no longer identifies a single part - confirm whether the housing or the stud is wanted. Thermostat housing 856173 is the other housing listed here, at 0.549 kg for 26 applications, and is a quite different casting.

Typically suits:

• Volvo Penta 430A

🔌 Function

Encloses the thermostat and directs coolant between the engine, the bypass and the cooling circuit as the thermostat opens.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Engine slow to warm through, or running hot
• Coolant weeping or dripping from the housing joint
• Corrosion pitting across the sealing face
• Casting face found warped or eroded on strip-down
• Bolt hole or stud threads pulled in the casting

🛠️ Service Notes

• Renew the thermostat and joint at the same time and check the sealing face is flat
• Ordering against the old number 857069 will not distinguish this housing from t-stud 857067 - specify which is needed
• Thermostat housing 856173 is a different part on much wider fitment; order by part number
