⚙️ Key Features

• For a 35 mm shaft
• Supersedes 833921, catalogued earlier as a cotton gland packing
• 0.012 kg
• 200 applications across six engine and gearbox series

🔌 Function

Packs the annular space around the shaft in the stuffing box, sealing against water ingress while allowing the shaft to turn.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• A steady drip or run of water past the shaft that will not adjust out
• Gland nut already wound down to the end of its travel
• Packing hardened, glazed or crumbling on removal
• Shaft scored or grooved where the packing bears
• Stuffing box running hot to the touch

🛠️ Service Notes

• Measure the shaft and order by diameter - box gasket 859008 shares this exact published weight, so mass is no guide
• Check the shaft for scoring while the packing is out
• Leave the gland only lightly nipped and check for a drip and for heat once running
