🔌 Function

Carries coolant between the heat exchanger and the expansion tank, letting the circuit take up expansion as it warms and draw coolant back as it cools.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Coolant weeping at either end, or a crusty trace at a clip
• Hose swollen and soft, or hardened and crazed
• Expansion tank level not moving as the engine warms and cools
• Coolant pushed out of the tank rather than drawn back
• Chafe mark where the hose has rubbed a bracket
