859831 Muffler | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta muffler from the Inlet and Exhaust System group, weighing 0.252 kg and listed for 3 applications on MD series engines. It shares those three applications with adapter 859832, which is the mating piece in the same group, so check whether both are needed before ordering either on its own.

🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

• Volvo Penta MD22A
• Volvo Penta MD22L
• Volvo Penta MD22P

• Engine Family: MD

⚙️ Key Features

• 0.252 kg
• 3 MD series applications
• Inlet and Exhaust System group
• Same three applications as adapter 859832

🔌 Function

Damps the pressure pulses travelling through the gas path, cutting the noise the engine puts out through that connection.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Noticeably louder running with no other change to the engine
• A rattle or buzz that rises and falls with engine speed
• Body corroded, split or perforated, often worst on the underside
• Connection faces distorted or wasted so the joint will not seal

🛠️ Service Notes

• Support the unit on its mounting rather than letting the pipework carry its weight
• Renew the joint seals at the same time — they are rarely reusable once disturbed

📦 Condition

• Genuine Volvo Penta part
• Brand new
• Supplied in original or equivalent packaging
