🔌 Function

Carries an engine-mounted load into the block on its own side of the engine, locating the fitting it supports.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Cracking from a bolt hole or from a sharp change of section
• Fixing holes worn oval, with fretting or bright rub marks around them
• Supported component out of alignment or able to move under load
• A knock or shudder from the mounting that appears under load and disappears at idle

🛠️ Service Notes

• Confirm the S.B marking against the bracket you removed before fitting
• Renew the fixings if the holes have been fretting — a new bracket on worn bolts will fret again
