A new aftermarket K26 marine turbocharger for selected Volvo Penta 41-series, KAD / KAMD42, KAD / KAMD43, KAD / KAMD44 and KAD / KAMD300 diesel engines.

Important fitment note:
• Some pre-March-1993 KAD42 and KAMD42 engines use Volvo Penta turbocharger 3802063 / 860352 rather than 861260 / 3802070. Confirm the original BorgWarner or Volvo Penta identification tag before ordering.
🔌 Function
The turbocharger supplies compressed air to the engine intake and works with the mechanically driven supercharger on applicable KAD and KAMD engines to provide strong low-speed response and higher-speed boost.
Common signs of turbocharger failure:
• Reduced acceleration after the supercharger disengages
• Engine cannot reach rated rpm
• Black smoke under load
• Blue smoke or excessive oil consumption
• Turbo whistle, siren or scraping noise
• Oil inside the compressor housing
• Wastegate or boost-control problems where fitted
• Excessive turbine or compressor shaft movement
• Corrosion damage in the turbine housing
Installation considerations:
• Confirm the engine production date and original turbo data plate
• Check whether the engine is pre- or post-1993 turbo configuration
• Replace engine oil and filter
• Inspect the oil-feed and oil-return pipes
• Clean the charge-air cooler and intake system
• Check the supercharger, bypass flap and associated controls where fitted
• Inspect the exhaust elbow for corrosion or restriction
• Prime the turbo bearing housing with clean engine oil
• Replace mounting gaskets and oil-line seals
• Confirm boost pressure under full loaded operation
