⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Oil weeping down the side of the head from the cover joint
  • Cover distorted or bowed between its fixings
  • Cracks around the fixing holes or the filler opening
  • Oily dirt gathering along the joint line

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Renew the cover gasket and check the cover is flat along its flange before refitting
  • Do not overtighten the fixings, as that is what bows the flange and starts the next leak
