Genuine MerCruiser Delco-Style Serpentine Alternator - Part Numbers: 862031 and 862031T1

A genuine used MerCruiser marine alternator for selected GM V6 and V8 sterndrive and inboard engines.

The original 862031 unit is commonly identified as a 65-amp alternator. Mercury's later 862031T1 service replacement is rated at 70 amps and uses the same general Delco-style, internally regulated and serpentine-belt configuration. The replacement unit is ignition protected for petrol-engine compartments.

The alternator converts belt-driven rotation into electrical current to recharge the battery and operate engine-management, ignition, fuel and accessory systems.
