862109 Nipple | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta nipple from the Instruments group, for engines up to the /24314 serial breakpoint or for engines that have not been rebuilt. It weighs 0.011 kg and is listed for 102 applications across the TD, TAMD, D, TWD, TID and TAD series. It supersedes part number 864415, which was catalogued earlier as a pressure monitor, so an older parts list will show a switch where the current listing gives a plain nipple.

🚤 Compatibility

• Engine Family: TD, TAMD, D, TWD, TID, TAD
• Serial Range: SN-XXXXXXXXXX/24314 or not rebuilt engines.

⚙️ Key Features

• For engines up to the /24314 serial breakpoint, or engines that have not been rebuilt
• 0.011 kg
• Supersedes 864415, catalogued earlier as a pressure monitor
• 102 applications across six engine series

🔌 Function

Provides the threaded, sealed take-off point where the sender or gauge line picks up pressure from the system.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Weeping or a wet film where the nipple screws into its boss
• Thread damaged, stretched or cross-started
• Sealing face nicked or picked up so a new washer still leaks
• Bore partly blocked with sludge, giving a slow or damped gauge reading

🛠️ Service Notes

• Check the engine serial number and whether the engine has been rebuilt, since this part is listed against that breakpoint
• Clear the bore and the feed drilling before fitting, as a blocked take-off gives a false low reading
• Renew the sealing washer and hold the boss when tightening rather than loading the housing
