• Diesel weeping from the joint, or a dust-caked film around it
• Ring found flattened, hardened, swollen or split on removal
• Nicks or a spiral twist in the ring where it was rolled during assembly
• Air drawn into the system, showing as hard starting or an uneven idle
• Groove or bore scratched, so a new ring leaks immediately

🛠️ Service Notes

• Fit a new ring every time the joint is opened, since o-rings take a set and will not reseal
• Check the groove and lead-in chamfer for burrs and lubricate the ring before assembly
• Bleed the fuel system and check for weeps at working temperature
