🔌 Function

Cushions and insulates a cable or component where it passes through or rests against metal, stopping chafe and vibration transfer.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Buzz or rattle from a cable run or panel at certain engine speeds
• Rubber gone hard, cracked or crumbling
• Cable insulation worn through where the cushion has failed
• Cushion split, displaced or missing from its aperture
• Green corrosion on a conductor exposed by chafe

🛠️ Service Notes

• Inspect the cable insulation where the cushion has failed, as chafe damage underneath is what actually causes the fault
• Renew all the cushions on a run rather than one at a time, since rubber ages together
