⚙️ Key Features
- 0.006 kg
- Supersedes 9687868, formerly catalogued as a plug
- 60 applications across D series engines
- Engine group
🔌 Function
Closes off a drilling, port or unused connection so oil, coolant or air cannot escape and dirt cannot get in.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Weeping or a wet film around a blanked port
- Slow loss of oil or coolant with no other source
- Plug found loose or backed out
- Thread or seal face damaged on removal
- Sealing washer flattened, split or missing
🛠️ Service Notes
- Renew the sealing washer or O-ring with the plug rather than reusing the old one
- Do not over-tighten — these plugs seal on the washer, not by force on the thread
