Converts hydraulic pressure into movement, driving its piston and rod out and back as the circuit is operated.

  • Movement slow, weak or refusing to hold position
  • Fluid weeping past the rod seal
  • Rod pitted, scored or bent
  • Bore scored so the piston passes fluid internally
  • Mounting eyes or pins worn, giving a knock under load

  • Check the rod for pitting before fitting new seals - a pitted rod will cut them again
  • Bleed the circuit and cycle the cylinder fully after fitting
