🔌 Function

Clamps the folding propeller onto the taper of the shaft and holds it there against the thrust and torque of the drive.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Nut backing off, letting the propeller work on the taper
• Thread damaged, stretched or picked up on removal
• Corrosion or salt seizure on the thread
• Propeller vibration or a knock felt through the hull
• Tab washer already broken or bent flat, showing the nut has moved

🛠️ Service Notes

• Fit with a new tab washer - 873475 is the M16 version - and knock the tab over properly once the nut is tightened
• Check the shaft thread and taper for damage before fitting; a picked-up thread will not give a true clamp
• Hub kits exclude the nut and key, so add this and the shaft key to the order
