🔌 Function

Keys the propeller to the shaft so that drive torque is taken through the key rather than by the taper alone.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Propeller working loose on the shaft
• Key sheared, burred or picked up on its flanks
• Keyway damaged or spread in shaft or hub
• Corrosion welding the key into the keyway
• Vibration under way after the propeller has moved on the taper

🛠️ Service Notes

• Measure the shaft - 25 mm takes 873474, 30 mm takes 873487, 35 mm takes this key and 40 mm takes 873505
• The key is not supplied in the hub kit, so add it to the order with the propeller nut
• Check both keyways for damage before refitting, and always renew the key after a propeller has come loose
