🔌 Function

Keys the propeller to the shaft so drive torque is carried by the key rather than by taper grip alone.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Propeller working loose on the shaft
• Key sheared, burred or picked up on its flanks
• Keyway damaged or spread in shaft or hub
• Corrosion welding the key into the keyway
• Vibration under way after the propeller has moved on the taper

🛠️ Service Notes

• Measure the shaft before ordering - 35 mm takes 873496 and 40 mm takes this key
• The 40 mm hub kit 3584137 supplies the M24 nut but not the key, so order the key with it
• Dress or renew a damaged keyway before fitting a new key, and always fit a new key after a propeller has worked loose

📦 Condition

• Genuine Volvo Penta part
• Brand new
• Supplied in original or equivalent packaging
