🔌 Function

Traps airborne dust and salt before it reaches the turbocharger and cylinders, so the induction air is clean at the ports.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Element visibly dirty, oily or collapsed
• Loss of power and black smoke under load
• Roaring or whistling from the intake as the element blocks
• Dust tracking found downstream of the element
• Seal or sealing face damaged so air bypasses the filter

🛠️ Service Notes

• On the 31-series only the KAD32 takes this element, while the other engines in that group take 858488 or 21646645 according to housing
• Renew rather than tap out and reuse, and check the element seal and the housing seat, because a bypassing filter does more damage than a dirty one
• Always refer to the operator's manual for the recommended maintenance and service intervals for your engine and drive
• Listed against more than one engine or drive family - check the qualifier that applies to your own engine or drive
