⚙️ Key Features

• Supersedes 840554
• 6.476 kg

🔌 Function

Converts the pistons' reciprocating movement into rotation and carries it out to the flywheel, running in the main bearings under full combustion load.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Deep rumbling knock from low in the engine, worst under load
• Oil pressure falling, especially hot and at idle
• Metal particles or bearing material found in the sump or filter
• Journals found scored, ovalled or blued from heat
• Vibration through the hull that was not there before

🛠️ Service Notes

• Have the journals measured for wear, ovality and taper before ordering - a regrind may be the answer instead
• Renew the main and big-end bearings, thrust washers and rear seal at the same time, and check the oil pump and pickup for debris
