🔌 Function

Carries the engine's weight on the bearers and isolates the hull from vibration and torque reaction.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • More vibration through the hull than the engine used to give
  • Engine visibly lifting or rocking on the mounts as revs are picked up
  • Rubber cracked, split, softened or squeezed out at the edges
  • Sagging that shows up as shaft or coupling misalignment
  • Knocking or thumping from the bearers when the drive is engaged

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Renew mounting elements as a set - one soft mount throws the alignment off
  • Re-check the engine and shaft alignment after the new elements have settled under load
