885478 Fixture | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta fixture 885478, listed at 0.621 kg. It is one of seven fixtures in this run of tool numbers, all under the same plain name, so quote the number the workshop procedure gives rather than ordering by description.

⚙️ Key Features

• 0.621 kg
• One of seven fixtures in this tool block
• Genuine Volvo Penta service tooling

🔌 Function

Locates and holds the assembly in a repeatable position while work is carried out on it.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Cracks at welds, corners or mounting holes
• Locating faces bruised or no longer flat
• Bolt holes elongated or threads pulled
• Assembly sitting skewed in the fixture

🛠️ Service Notes

• This is a workshop tool rather than a part fitted to the engine; use it only for the operation described in the workshop manual for your engine, and follow that procedure rather than improvising with it
• Inspect it before every use for bent or worn contact faces, damaged threads, cracks and previous makeshift repairs — a distorted fixture will give a false reading or let the component it holds move
• Never modify the fixture, pack it out, or use it to apply loads or leverage it was not made for; a slipping or overloaded fixture damages the component and is a safety risk
• Make sure it engages fully and squarely on the component and that any fasteners on the tool itself are tight before load is applied
• Clean it after use, wipe it lightly with oil, and store it dry so threads and machined faces stay true
