Squeezes the piston rings flush into their grooves so the piston can be pushed square into the bore without a ring catching.

  • Rings catching or breaking on entry to the bore
  • Band or taper bore scored, stepped or worn
  • Clamp not closing evenly all the way round the piston
  • Compressor scuffing or marking the piston skirt
  • Body distorted, so it no longer sits square on the block face
