88800345 Adapter | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta special tool 88800345, listed at 12.587 kg and catalogued here as a fixture. Volvo's own special tools catalogue designates it an adapter and publishes its applications for the first time: forty-nine in all, the twenty-eight-model D13 range plus the TAD540VE to TAD572VE and TAD840VE to TAD873VE industrial engines. It supersedes 88800003. At this weight it is a freight-scale item rather than a small parcel.

⚙️ Key Features

• 12.587 kg
• Designated an adapter in Volvo's special tools catalogue, where our listing names it a fixture
• Published for forty-nine applications: the D13 range and the TAD540-572VE and TAD840-873VE industrial engines
• Supersedes 88800003
• Freight-scale weight — plan handling and delivery accordingly

🔌 Function

Couples the service tool or the lifting arrangement to the component, matching one mounting face or pattern to another so the load passes through squarely.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Mounting or locating faces worn, scored or picked up
• Mounting holes elongated or their threads pulled
• Distortion or a bow after being used beyond its purpose
• Cracks around welds, corners or mounting holes
• No longer sitting flat, so the component is held out of true

🛠️ Service Notes

• Check the mounting faces before each job — an adapter that has been distorted holds the assembly out of true and the error is easy to blame on the engine
• An order placed against the older number 88800003 will bring this tool
