🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta engine heater weighing 1.726 kg and listed for 71 applications across the TAD, TD, TWD and TID ranges. It supersedes part number 1622520, which was catalogued under the same engine heater name, so it is a straight replacement under a new number.

🚤 Compatibility

  • Engine Family: TAD, TD, TWD, TID

Full model list at the end of this description.

⚙️ Key Features

  • 1.726 kg
  • 71 applications across the TAD, TD, TWD and TID ranges
  • Supersedes 1622520, which carried the same name

🔌 Function

Warms the coolant while the engine is stopped, so it turns over and comes up to temperature more easily in cold conditions.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Engine still hard to start in cold weather although the heater is switched on
  • Heater circuit tripping its breaker or blowing its fuse
  • Coolant weeping around the heater body or its seal
  • Scale or discoloured coolant around the element
  • Element casing corroded or burnt at the terminal end

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Never energise the heater with the coolant drained, as the element burns out within seconds when run dry
  • Renew the sealing ring whenever the heater is disturbed, then refill and bleed the system before switching it on
  • Isolate the shore supply before working on it, and check the earth continuity of the circuit after fitting
