88880014 Counterhold | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta special tool 88880014, weighing 0.25 kg. Volvo's special tools catalogue names it a counterhold rather than a puller, and lists it against eleven industrial and generating-set engines: TAD560VE, TAD561VE, TAD734GE, TAD752GE, TAD753GE, TAD754GE, TAD761VE, TAD762VE, TAD763VE, TAD764VE and TAD765VE. Thread tap 88880057 carries the same eleven engines, so the product list will not separate the two.

⚙️ Key Features

• Named a counterhold in Volvo's special tools catalogue, not a puller
• 0.25 kg
• Listed for TAD560VE, TAD561VE, TAD734GE, TAD752GE, TAD753GE, TAD754GE and TAD761VE to TAD765VE
• Shares its eleven engine applications with thread tap 88880057
• Product-specific tool, not a universal one

🔌 Function

Holds a component against the turning force applied to it, so a fastener can be tightened or released without the assembly rotating or taking the load.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Drive or engagement faces worn round, so the tool slips under load
• Body bent or sprung after being used with a bar
• Cracks at a change of section or around a pin hole
• Fastener corners rounding off because the counterhold is not holding square

🛠️ Service Notes

• Thread tap 88880057 shares the same eleven engine applications, so confirm which tool the procedure names
• Check the engagement faces before applying load, since a worn counterhold lets the assembly turn and rounds off the fastener
