A large four-lug spanner used to remove and install the threaded bearing-carrier retainer nut in Mercury and MerCruiser gearcases. It provides full engagement around the nut and avoids damage caused by punches or chisels.

The wrench engages the bearing-carrier retainer nut evenly so the retainer can be removed or tightened without breaking the lugs or damaging the gear housing.
