Genuine Yamaha Driveshaft Oil Seal 23mm x 35.5mm x 6mm - Part Number: 93101-25M57


A genuine Yamaha S-type oil seal fitted around the lower-unit driveshaft on selected 40HP to 60HP outboards.


The seal is positioned beneath the water-pump assembly and protects the gearcase from cooling-water intrusion while retaining the lower-unit lubricant.

🔌 Function


The seal prevents cooling water from entering the gearcase around the driveshaft and stops gear lubricant from leaking into the water-pump cavity.


Common signs of failure:


• Milky or emulsified lower-unit lubricant

• Oil collecting beneath the water-pump base

• Gearcase will not hold pressure or vacuum

• Seal lip is cut, hardened or distorted

• Driveshaft has a wear groove at the sealing surface
