⚙️ Key Features

  • Supersedes 818044
  • 0.014 kg
  • 12 applications across the MD and AQD series

🔌 Function

Seals a cored opening in the casting, expanding against the bore as it is driven home so coolant cannot escape.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Coolant weeping or running from the plug
  • Rust staining or a crusty deposit around the rim
  • Plug corroded thin, dished or pushed out of its bore
  • Coolant loss with no visible leak from hoses or joints

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Clean the bore back to bright metal before fitting, as a new plug will not seal against corrosion left in the hole
  • If one expansion plug has corroded through, check the others nearby and the coolant condition, since they usually go as a group
