955100 Expansion Plug | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta expansion plug weighing 0.007 kg and listed for 23 applications across the TWD, TID, TD, TAMD and TAD series. It occupies the opening that the crankcase breather pipe uses: where a breather pipe is to be attached, this plug is knocked out to open the port. That makes it an install-or-remove decision rather than a straight replacement, and it is what separates it from the other expansion plug here, 955096.

🚤 Compatibility

• Engine Family: TWD, TID, TD, TAMD, TAD

⚙️ Key Features

• Knocked out when a crankcase breather pipe is to be attached
• 0.007 kg
• 23 applications across five engine series
• 955096 is the other expansion plug listed here

🔌 Function

Blanks the crankcase breather port in the casting until a breather pipe is fitted, at which point it is knocked out.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Oil weeping or misting around the plug
• Plug loose, proud or pushed part way out
• Corrosion or pitting on the plug face
• Bore corroded so the plug will not seat
• Crankcase pressure escaping past a poorly seated plug

🛠️ Service Notes

• Decide before fitting whether the breather port is being used — once the plug is knocked out it is not going back in
• Clean the bore before driving a new plug home and set it square to the correct depth

📦 Condition
