956980 Fitting Nut | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta fitting nut listed for 197 applications across the AQ, TAD, TD, AD, TAMD and D families. It replaces 838669 and 858911, the same two numbers that ferrule 956966 replaces, so those old return line numbers now come as a pair of current parts.

🚤 Compatibility

• Engine Family: AQ, TAD, TD, AD, TAMD, D, TWD, TID, TMD, BB, B, DP, DPX, SP, MD, MB, AQD, KAD, KAMD

⚙️ Key Features

• Quantity varies by assembly, most commonly one

🔌 Function

Tightens onto the fitting to pull the pipe end down into its seat and hold the joint sealed.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Weeping or seeping at the union
• Nut corroded or seized on the fitting
• Flats rounded off by a slipping spanner
• Union working loose with vibration
• Thread stripped or picked up

🛠️ Service Notes

• Order this nut together with ferrule 956966 - one old number now maps to both, and fitting one without the other leaves the joint incomplete
• Renew the ferrule whenever the nut is disturbed
