Aftermarket Mercruiser Exhaust Manifold 2.5L & 3.0L Engines - Part Number: 96705A1


A water-jacketed cast-iron exhaust manifold for early MerCruiser GM 153 CID / 2.5L and 181 CID / 3.0L inline-four engines. It replaces the 96705A1 / 52390A1 manifold family and is supplied in aftermarket configurations with the required plugs and service hardware.

🔌 Function


The manifold collects exhaust gas from the four cylinders while its water jacket removes heat before the gas reaches the exhaust elbow.

• External exhaust or cooling-water leakage

• Internal water leakage into the exhaust ports or cylinders

• Restricted cooling passages or abnormal manifold temperature

• Cracked casting, warped flange or corroded sealing face

• Loss of power caused by an internally restricted exhaust passage
