⚙️ Key Features

  • 4.8 and 2.8 mm blade sizes
  • For 1.1 to 2.5 mm² cable cross section
  • 0.028 kg
  • Supersedes 970749
  • Quantity varies by assembly, most commonly one

🔌 Function

Crimps onto the cable end and locks into the connector housing, giving a gas-tight joint between conductor and terminal that vibration cannot shake loose.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Intermittent or dead circuit that changes when the loom is moved
  • Terminal pulling out of its housing
  • Green or white corrosion on the crimp
  • Crimp loose on the conductor
  • Locking tang bent, so the terminal will not latch

🛠️ Service Notes

  • 970778 is the same 4.8 and 2.8 mm terminal for the lighter 0.5 to 1 mm cable range, so the cable size decides which of the two you need
  • An order against the old number 970749 brings this terminal
